NEARTOWN ASSOCIATION (NTA) MEETING

Cherryhurst Community Center, Tuesday October 25, 2005

Minutes

NTA President Jack Rose opened the meeting at 7:00 p.m. There were no minutes available from the previous meeting due to computer problems.

Ed Gonzales reported that we have a working balance of $650.

John Galeener announced the nominations for 2006 Neartown Board of Directors. They are listed as follows

President- Allen Ueckert (North Montrose) Vice President- David Robinson (Park Civic) Secretary- Carol Galeener (North Montrose) Treasurer- Dale Harger (Avondale)

Many thanks go out to John Galeener and the other members of the Nomination Committee for their hard work in putting together the slate of officers for this year’s election.

Dale Harger reported that the Montrose Task Force is working to combat the problem of the homeless in the area. He also reported that Sixth Ward, Avondale, and Hyde Park United have each turned in petitions For an anti-loitering ordinance.

Jack Rose reported that he had been approached in regards to putting a sign in the Castle Court area.

Robin Holzer reported that the County is considering selling off the toll road system to a private investor.

Robert Graham gave a brief update on PIP. The next PIP meeting will be held on November 16, 2005 at the Multi-Service Center on West Gray.

The November Neartown meeting was moved up to November 15, 2005 due to our regular meeting date (4th Tuesday) being on the same week as Thanksgiving.
